Mjøsli Cabins and Nature Park
Hamar the city by Lake Mjøsa
Many people are probably surprised when they see how much you can actually experience along Lake Mjøsa. The Hamar region is compact, with a short distance from the edge of Lake Mjøsa to the ski slopes. With the Mjøstråkk cycle route, you can actually roll around the whole of Lake Mjøsa while enjoying the beautiful cultural landscape.
The new Mjøsfronten in Hamar is a delightful area with food trucks, umbrellas, yellow deckchairs and a real southern atmosphere. A success from day one. The popular area is located on the edge of Lake Mjøsa, right by Hamar city center. But Mjøsa is just as beautiful all year round. And some winters she is transformed into an ice queen.
Another Mjø gem is the medieval museum Domkirkeodden, which has been named one of the world's most beautiful museums. And the beautiful Hamardomen is located in the middle of the museum park.
And we're very fond of white gold here. It first descends at Budor in Løten. From there, you have access to 300 km of queue-free ski trails. And speaking of Løten: Did you know that Edvard Munch was actually born there? A vibrant cultural life characterizes the Hamar region, with Hamar kulturhus as the main venue.
And the taste of the Hamar region? Yes, it's local and can be tried just about anywhere.
A warm welcome!
Stange Vestbygd
Take a trip to the Tuscany of the North
Beautiful Stange Vestbygd has been selected as one of the most valuable cultural landscapes in Inland Norway, and in 2015 it was nominated for the national cultural landscape award. And in 2013, VG ran a major article on Stange Vestbygd with the headline "Here you have the Tuscany of the North".
Open doors all year round
Cafés, farm shops, distilleries, accommodation, golf, pubs, function rooms, medieval church, equestrian center... There is a wide range of activities on offer in the area, and more and more guests are visiting Vestbygda, as the inhabitants like to call their village. See https://stangevestbygd.no/
A beautiful part of the pilgrimage trail
In the Middle Ages, the village was called Skaun, which means the beautiful, and for pilgrims it is an experience to get out of their shoes and walk through this undulating landscape towards Domkirkeodden in Hamar. The area is well-equipped for good outdoor experiences, with well-established hiking trails and proximity to Lake Mjøsa.
Budor Hedmarksvidda
Budor - the gateway to Hedmarksvidda!
Budor is a destination owned and operated by landowner Løiten Almenning. Located 1.5 hours drive from Oslo and 1 hour from Gardermoen, Budor has strengthened its position as an attractive resort and cabin area. Budor is an excellent place for cross-country skiing, with over 300 km of prepared trails on the Hedmarksvidda plateau. Here you can enjoy skiing on Norway's finest ski slopes.
Budor currently has around 1,100 cabins, as well as 19 apartments attached to Budor Gjestegård.
Budor Ski Resort is fun for young and old alike. Here you can safely let your children romp around on skis or sledges. The resort is one of the few with its own toboggan run. At the bottom of the slope we have a cozy, adapted area where the whole family can enjoy themselves in front of the barbecue or around the toboggan run with its own conveyor belt, especially suitable for the little ones.
Budor is located with large nature reserves on either side. Here you will always have good access to untouched nature as a source of great experiences. In close collaboration with Hamar and Hedemarken Tourist Association, Budor can offer many great trips for young and old in summer and winter.
In Koiedalen you can experience the tranquillity of the forest in an easily accessible way. Koiedalen consists of a collection of forest huts, each of which tells the story of the forest worker. In addition to the huts and shelters, there are gravel paths with play equipment for children and seating for everyone. Here the whole family can enjoy themselves together. The huts are newly renovated and available for hire.
Welcome to Budor!
Mjøsli Cabins and nature park
Mjøsli is an established and sociable cabin community with nature and experiences for the family right outside the door. Mjøsli is also perfect for slow leisure. The cabin area has its own activity area with a football pitch, sand volleyball, memory frame and trampoline. The area is popular with children and young people of all ages.
Boat moorings are available at Mjøsa. In the forests behind Mjøsli there are endless hiking, skiing, hunting and cycling opportunities, as well as several idyllic forest lakes.
Cycling, skiing, jumping on a trampoline, playing volleyball or soccer, swinging, climbing, bouldering, playing. Boating, swimming, fishing, jigging, grilling, knitting, hunting, reading, baking and cooking, watching TV, full speed or lazy days.
The children show that they are enjoying themselves with happy and "old-fashioned" play. Watching tadpoles is just as fun as playing with your phone. Jumping on a trampoline is just as fun as playing Fortnite. Fishing with a rod, lure or fly. Fishing on the ice? Perhaps fishing for big pike?
The zoo at Tangen is a popular destination. The zoo is particularly nice. Plenty of space and a nice place to go for a walk. Bring your own food and have a barbecue at one of the nice picnic areas in the zoo.
If you're interested in art and culture, the hinterland is the center for this. Here you'll find the Norwegian Emigration Museum and the Motor History Museum. You don't have to go far to visit Prøysenhuset.
