At a conference hotel, you share the hallways, breakfast room, and elevator with three other companies. With us, you have the entire building to yourselves. Everyone gets their own room, the meeting screen is set up and ready to go, and your closest neighbor is the forest. Three locations in Innlandet, starting at 1 hour from Oslo and 30 minutes from Gardermoen.
Does everyone get their own room?
Yes. That's usually the first question we get.
The solution is to combine the conference cabin with the neighboring cabins. Meetings, meals, and evening activities take place in the main cabin. Guests are accommodated in the surrounding cabins—everyone gets their own room, you have access to several bathrooms, and the cabins are within walking distance of each other.
No one shares a room with the boss. No one stands in line for the shower at seven o'clock.
The price of the neighboring cabins is in addition to the price of the conference cabin itself. Let us know how many people are in your group, and we'll calculate the cost for your specific group.
What is a typical stay like?
Most people arrive early in the morning on day one and leave after lunch on day two. One night's stay.
That gives you a full workday, an evening together without anyone having to rush to catch the last train, and a morning to finalize decisions. Some people add another night when the agenda is more packed—that works just as well.
What kinds of meeting equipment are available?
- Screen or projector in all conference rooms
- Projector on Malungen
- High-speed broadband
- Flipcharts and video conferencing equipment are provided upon request, for an additional fee
Let us know well in advance what the agenda requires, so everything will be ready when you arrive. If anyone will be participating via video from home, please let us know—we’ll test the setup before you arrive.
Which cabins are most commonly used for this?
- The Hunting Lodge, Malungen — seating for 30, 23 beds (up to 79 in the courtyard), private hot tub, and private dock
- Mjøsli Lodge — meeting space for 30, 8 beds + neighboring cabins, hot tub and sauna, closest to Oslo
- Østerdalsstua, Mjøsli — 18, in an 18th-century building that was moved here stone by stone
- Casa Leo, Budor — 18, custom meeting setup
- Løvsangeren, Budor — 14, wood-fired hot tub and sauna
- Budor Alpinlodge — 12, ski right from the door
- Gildehallen at Malungen — for large gatherings, up to 150 people for a one-day conference
Løvsangeren is our own. Heidi bought it from one of our guests, and it has become one of the places businesses keep coming back to.
What about the food?
There are two paths, and most people choose the first one.
Catering. We partner with Hai Catering, Smakfull Catering, and Innlandet Catering. They deliver to the cabin, so you don’t have to worry about grocery shopping or doing the dishes—and can spend your time doing what you came here to do.
Self-catering. The kitchen is fully equipped, and some groups prefer to cook together—it’s a social gathering in itself. At Mjøsli , you can order groceries from Oda and have them delivered to the cabin. Oda does not deliver to Budor or Malungen , so you’ll need to shop there along the way.
How about a Christmas party at one of our cabins?
What can you do together?
This is where a cabin differs from a hotel conference room. You're on-site around the clock, and the program can move right from the last item on the agenda to something completely different.
- Activities in collaboration with Karset Aktivitetsgård and Spreke Opplevelser
- Wood-fired hot tub and sauna in the evening
- Cross-country ski trails and downhill slopes in the winter at Budor
- Swimming and hiking in the summer
- Fire pits and barbecue shelters in several locations
Activities are booked separately. Let us know what you have in mind, and we'll set it up.
How long does it take to get there?
- Mjøsli: 1 hour from Oslo, 30 minutes from Gardermoen
- Budor: 1.5 hours from Oslo, 1 hour from Gardermoen
- Malungen: 1.5 hours from Oslo, 1 hour from Gardermoen
When the gathering starts early in the morning, it means people can drive from home that same morning. No one has to travel the night before, and no one loses a workday to travel.
Why a cabin instead of a hotel?
Because a management team that is going to discuss strategy shouldn't do so with another company in the next room.
At the cabin, the entire place is yours from the first guest to the last. No one else in the breakfast room, no one else in the hallway, no one eavesdropping on your conversation by the coffee machine. There’s peace and privacy—and that’s the one thing a conference hotel can’t offer you.
"We've used it several times for team retreats. It has comfortable beds, 3 bathrooms, plenty of nice living areas, and absolutely everything you need for a great stay. 5 stars!"
— Else Nygaard, Schibsted Media · Google review of Løvsangeren on Budor
How much does it cost?
Lunch at the " Mjøsli " Lodge starting at 8,950 kroner for 8 people, one night. This is the price for the entire cabin, including the meeting room and lodging; it is not per person. Meals are not included, and prices vary depending on the season and demand.
If everyone is to have their own room, the adjacent cabins will be added to the booking. The final price depends on the location, group size, and number of nights.
The fact that you're renting the entire house—rather than rooms per person—also means that the price remains the same even if someone cancels the day before.
